Police verification of tenants in Kolkata is mandatory, failure to which will make the landowner liable for punishment.

How to do Kolkata Tenant Police Verification- Online or Offline?

The police verification process is conducted offline in Kolkata. You have to follow the below-mentioned process:

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD the form from this Link > Under the heading Residential Tenant Profile > Download Residential Tenant Profile Form

OR

Collect the form from the nearest police station.

STEP 2: Fill the following details-

  1. Owner details
  2. Tenant details
  3. Office address of the Tenant
  4. 2 references, their address, contact number
  5. Signature of the owner

STEP 3: Attach the following documents:

  1. Owner’s ID Proof (Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/Passport/Driving License)
  2. Tenant’s ID Proof ((Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/Passport/Driving License)
  3. Tenant’s passprt size photograph

STEP 4:  After filling the form, submit the form at the nearest police station along with the documents mentioned in STEP 3.

STEP 5: After submitting the form, collect an acknoledgment receipt from the police station and keep that for future reference.

STEP 6: The police authorities may call the tenant or owner for verification if any necessary verification is needed. If the police authorities find out any past criminal record of the tenant, they’ll inform the landowners.

This process is free of cost and mandatory as per Section 188 of The India Penal Code.
