Tenant Background Verification

When a landowner rents out residential house property, police verification of the tenant is mandatory. It is done to check if there is any criminal record of the tenant or not.

In Gurgaon, police verification of tenants can be done either offline or online. Both the processes are given below.

OFFLINE PROCESS

STEP 1: Collect the form from the nearest police station

STEP 2: Fill the following details:

  1. Information about the landlord
  2. Information about the tenant
  3. Information about tenant’s family members
  4. Signature of both the tenant and leandlord

STEP 3: Attach the following documents with the form:

  1. ID proof of the tenant (Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Ration Card)
  2. ID proof of the Landlord (Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Ration Card)
  3. Passport size photograph of the tenant

STEP 4: Post signature, submit the form to the nearest police station with Rs. 50 as processing fees.

STEP 5: After submission, collect the acknowledgment receipt and keep it for future reference

STEP 6: Once the verification process is done, you can collect the report from the police station

ONLINE PROCESS

STEP 1: Visit the site http://haryanapoliceonline.gov.in/login

STEP 2: You’ll find a “CITIZEN LOGIN” portal where you have to log in first. If you are a new user, you have to click on “create citizen login” > Enter all the personal details > enter captcha code > submit

STEP 3: Once you log in, select “Verification  services” > select tenant  verification request > select tenant verification

STEP 4: Now fill owner’s information > click on next

STEP 5: Then, fill tenant’s information and fill 2 references

STEP 6: Fill in the address details > Next

STEP 7: Fill in the tenant’s family member information (This is optional) > Next

STEP 8: Once you submit the form, you’ll get a payment option. You can pay online Rs. 50 as processing fees.

STEP 9: Your request will be submitted & you will see a request number on your screen. You have to save this number for future reference.

STEP 10: Now you can check the status of your request by selecting Verification services > Tenant verification request > View tenant verification detail

Police Verification is necessary for the landlords to avoid any future repercussions and be safe from any liabilities.
